Three weeks left on the West Coast and then back to New Jersey to hibernate. Even though this is year two of me spending the spring and summer in California, I still get asked why would I opt to spend fall and winter in New Jersey, of all places. With this year’s summer, I’m asking myself the same question.
Though, as hot as Southern California got, it was not as suffocatingly hot as New Jersey summers get. And yes, I’m aware of the blizzard we got last year and I hear we’re in for it this winter too. But there’s something magical about the changing of the seasons the way it happens in the Northeast. How the trees change into magical colors. How delightful it feels coming in from the cold to a toasty warm house feels. How snuggling under a comfy blanket on the couch, and staying there all day is a perfectly okay way to spend one’s time.
Will I finish my two writing projects in progress? I’d like to tell you yes, but I’d be lying. I will likely be doing everything BUT working on those two scripts for more than a few moments here and there because let’s face it, I’ve mastered the art of procrastination and man, why would I suddenly be productive in that area now?
Anyway, happy autumn ya’ll.
